Chris Harburn
Co Founder / Managing Director
Over the past 19 years, Chris has engaged with and influenced all disciplines of the real estate industry, from residential sales to leading project sales and marketing efforts through both agency and developer roles. He has built in-house sales and marketing departments from the ground up and developed some of the industry's strongest sales teams. Notable experience includes Director roles at rennie and Anthem Properties Group, along with Vice President roles at Marcon Developments and Grosvenor Property Americas.
The core aim for Chris in co-founding Proper was to bring multifaceted experience to development programs. In a rapidly shifting market, having a trusted thought partner who understands both sides of the table has become increasingly essential.
An avid trail runner often found intentionally lost in the North Vancouver mountains, Chris also values time with his young family, driving the 1965 Ford Mustang he rebuilt with his father and planning his next trip to Santa Barbara.
Sarah Fuchs
Sales Director
Beginning in high-end property management in 2009, Sarah built early expertise marketing luxury homes throughout Vancouver, with a focus on the Westside, Downtown and North Shore.
In 2013, Sarah expanded into counselling, developing the communication skills and behavioural insight that continue to shape her approach to real estate today. She has also remained active as an investor, with a focus on thoughtful design, livability and long-term value creation.
Sarah joined Marcon in 2022, contributing to the launch of multiple presale programs before transitioning into a specialized team focused on boutique completed inventory, including townhomes and penthouses. In 2025, she brought this multidisciplinary perspective to Proper, where she champions a thoughtful and informed sales experience grounded in storytelling, design awareness and dynamic, solutions-focused communication.
Outside of work, Sarah values time outdoors, travelling and exploring architecture and design through both personal and professional experiences.
Jenna Van Alstine
Business Development
Jenna operates at the intersection of real estate sales, development, and hospitality — a rare vantage shaped by 18 years in the Vancouver market. A graduate of BCIT's commercial real estate program, she has served both individual clients and developers, building a skill set that is uncommon in the industry: a deep working knowledge of contracts, process, and the mechanics of bringing product to market, paired with an instinct for service and strategy.
Before Proper, Jenna spent over a decade at Rennie, working alongside some of the city's leading developers and contributing to notable communities across Vancouver — Canada House, Grosvenor Ambleside, The Pacific by Grosvenor, The Amazing Brentwood, and Olympic Village among them. Her experience spans the full path to market: early product review, pricing, launch strategy, inventory planning, and realtor engagement, through to leading sales teams and shaping the on-site experience.
Meticulous and deeply service-minded, Jenna brings a rare mix of analytical thinking and human instinct to her work.
Jesse Laver
Co Founder / Marketing Director
Jesse brings more than 20 years of real estate experience together with a deeply developed understanding of architecture, design and visual storytelling. His work sits at the intersection of real estate marketing and architectural photography, shaped by years spent studying how thoughtful design influences the way people experience space.
Originally from the UK, Jesse moved to Vancouver at a young age while maintaining a strong connection to England and Europe throughout his life. Before entering real estate in 2005, he worked in fashion, tailoring and retail buying — experiences that sharpened his eye for detail, composition and presentation.
What began as photographing his own listings evolved into a dedicated focus on architecture and interiors photography, leading to the launch of Laver Creative in 2015, a studio specializing in architectural photography and film for developers, designers and real estate projects across Vancouver.
Today, Jesse combines his background in architectural media with extensive real estate experience, offering a perspective that goes beyond conventional sales. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his two daughters, skiing, travelling and exploring photography through architecture and everyday life.
